Howl* - back with a vengeance and a new venue

Fridays, 5th and 19th March, 10pm till late, entry fee

The Pavilion Bar, 296 Ormeau Road

Howl is Belfast's monthly alternative music queer club night and it's been going from strength to strength. After an extended summer break, Howl is at a new venue - The Pavilion Bar on the Upper Ormeau Road, where it'll do its thing on the first Friday of each month. Ruth from Howl has the details:

The venue may have changed but the HOWL ideology remains the same. HOWL inhabits a universe a million light years from the commercial gay scene. HOWL is a space for queer folk and their friends who get off on a different kind of beat.

The music will remain an eclectic mix of indie, rock, funk, hip hop and a bit of whatever, brought to you by people who love the tunes as much as you do. On top of that there’s the free HOWL ‘Zine, bringing you the best in avant garde nonsense with a queer bent.

Check out the Howl website or email the organisers for details of upcoming events.

QueerSpace & Tinderbox Theatre Company Drama Workshops

Thursday, 18th & Tuesday, 23rd March @ 7.00 p.m.

Tinderbox, Northern Ireland's leading independent theatre company, unveils a major new production - Revenge -  at the end of March in the former Northern Bank building on Waring Street. As part of this, Tinderbox is undertaking outreach work with community organisations. QueerSpace is delighted to be one of the groups chosen.

The workshops will explore the different themes involved in the production and we have been assured that no great acting talent is necessary - just a desire to really get stuck in! Each participant will receive a pack with a full programme and script, as well as a subsidised ticket to see the production itself and a chance to talk to the cast and crew.

Places on the programme are limited to 20, so if you're interested and prepared to attend the two workshops in addition to the show itself, email info@queerspace.org.uk.
